Nestled in the heart of Bali, our partnership with a family-run dye studio embodies a holistic and creative approach to dyeing. This studio employs a unique method utilizing five key plants—Mango leaves, Umbrella leaves, Mahogany leaves, Indigo leaves, and Sappan wood Bark. Each plant contributes its distinct "primary" color, laying the groundwork for a versatile palette that mirrors the vibrant landscapes of Bali.
The meticulous process involves harvesting, chopping, drying, and a 7 to 8-hour boiling session to extract rich, nature-inspired hues. Their commitment to environmental consciousness is further evident through sustainable leaf harvesting and repurposing waste as compost, fostering a legacy of sustainable practices within the local community.
